Blacksburg, VA
Zaxx Tech Solutions installs professional Starlink systems and PoE security cameras throughout Blacksburg, VA — for homes, high-occupancy rentals near Virginia Tech, businesses, and rural properties out toward Ellett Valley and Catawba in Montgomery County.
Blacksburg’s mix of homes, rentals, businesses and a large student population creates real demand for dependable security cameras and solid connectivity. Zaxx Tech Solutions leads with professional security camera installation and Starlink setups — clean, hardwired, and built to keep working long after cheap DIY gear quits.
We handle everything from camera systems on faculty homes in town to rock-solid WiFi and cameras for high-occupancy student rentals near Virginia Tech. And out toward Ellett Valley, Catawba and the wooded edges of Montgomery County — where broadband thins out — we mount Starlink properly so those properties finally get fast, reliable internet.
Blacksburg’s hills and heavy tree cover on the outskirts are exactly the conditions that make Starlink placement matter. We analyze the sky view, find the clearest mount, and dial in the router so speeds are fast and stable — confirmed with a real speed test before we pack up.
We mount Blacksburg dishes permanently, above the tree line, on a roof or pole — wind-rated, grounded and sealed against the wind and ice that come off the ridges. No tripod sliding around the yard.
In Blacksburg’s student rentals and older homes, we constantly clean up cable messes. We seal a proper exterior entry and conceal the interior run so Starlink and camera lines look factory-clean — never draped through a window.
High-occupancy rentals near campus hammer a single router with dozens of devices. We design wired-backhaul mesh so WiFi holds up under load across every bedroom and floor, with a secure separate network where landlords want it.
Detached garages, ADUs and workshops around Blacksburg often sit in a dead zone. We bridge WiFi or run cable so those spaces get real coverage — and can host their own cameras or smart devices.
For Blacksburg homes and rentals, we install PoE camera systems covering entries, driveways and shared exterior areas — with color night vision, doorbell and floodlight cameras and instant phone alerts. Landlords love the remote viewing for keeping an eye on rental properties.
Blacksburg offices, shops and restaurants get multi-camera PoE coverage of entrances, registers and back-of-house, recorded to a scalable NVR with remote access for owners and managers — all DCJS-compliant.
We install hardwired PoE cameras — one Cat6 cable for power and data — so there are no batteries and no WiFi cameras dropping when a rental full of devices saturates the network. Reliability is the point.
Footage records locally to an NVR you own, with no forced monthly cloud fees. We set weeks of retention and quick motion search so a landlord or homeowner can pull a clip in seconds.
View any Blacksburg property live from your phone — ideal for landlords managing multiple rentals. We set up secure remote access, person/motion alerts and multi-property viewing in one app.
A big share of our Blacksburg work is upgrades: pulling out failed WiFi-camera kits at rentals, adding cameras to an existing NVR, killing blind spots at shared entries, and re-running the sloppy cabling left by a previous installer.
Reliable systems start with clean Cat6/Cat6A. We wire cameras, access points and data drops — retrofit into Blacksburg’s older homes and rentals, or prewired into new construction and additions.
A few real jobs from our team — actual installs, not stock photos.
