Radford, VA
Radford is our home base. Zaxx Tech Solutions installs professional Starlink systems and PoE security cameras for Radford homes, riverfront properties, student rentals and downtown businesses — with permanent mounting, NVR recording and remote phone viewing.
Radford is our home base, so when a homeowner or business here needs a Starlink dish mounted or a camera system installed, we are usually only minutes away. We are a licensed, local team that leads with two things: professional Starlink installation and reliable, hardwired security cameras — backed by clean cabling and solid WiFi.
We know Radford well: the older brick homes near Radford University, the houses tucked along the New River off Rock Road, and the small businesses along Main Street and Tyler Avenue. That local knowledge shapes every install, from retrofitting camera cabling in an established neighborhood to finding a clear-sky Starlink mount on a home shaded by the ridgelines above the river.
Even in town, the tree cover along the New River and the hills around Radford can block a Starlink dish’s view of the sky. We run a full obstruction analysis, pick the clearest mounting spot, and set the router where it actually pushes signal through the house — then verify real speeds with a test before we leave.
We skip the flimsy included base and mount your Radford dish permanently — roof, pole or eave — above the tree line and rooflines that cause dropouts. Every mount is grounded, surge-protected and weather-sealed to handle summer storms and winter ice on the river.
On Radford’s older homes, sloppy cable routing is the number-one thing we redo. We seal a proper exterior entry, conceal the run inside, and get the Starlink or camera cable to where it needs to go — no cord stuffed through a cracked window.
Plaster walls and multi-level layouts near campus kill single-router WiFi. We integrate Starlink or your existing internet with a wired-backhaul mesh so coverage is solid from the basement to the top floor, with a separate guest network for rentals.
Detached garages, workshops and river-side sheds are common in Radford, and they usually have zero signal. We bridge WiFi or run buried cable so outbuildings get real internet — and can run their own cameras.
Most Radford homes and student rentals do well with a 4–8 camera PoE system covering entries, driveways and the street side. We install color-night-vision cameras, doorbell and floodlight cams, and set up alerts straight to your phone.
For Radford’s downtown shops, offices and restaurants, we design multi-camera systems that cover registers, entrances and back rooms, recorded to an NVR sized for the retention you want and viewable by owners and managers remotely.
We install hardwired Power-over-Ethernet cameras — one Cat6 cable carries power and data — so there are no batteries to change and no WiFi cameras dropping offline. Reliable footage, day and night, is the whole point.
Your footage records locally to an NVR you own, so there are no forced monthly cloud fees. We size storage for weeks of continuous retention and set up quick motion search so finding an event takes seconds.
Watch your Radford property live from your phone or laptop, anywhere. We configure secure remote access, person/motion alerts, and multi-location viewing if you own more than one property.
A lot of our Radford calls are upgrades — ripping out a failed DIY kit or aging analog system, adding cameras to an existing NVR, fixing blind spots, and re-running the messy cabling a previous installer left behind.
Cameras and WiFi are only as good as the wiring behind them. We run clean, tested Cat6/Cat6A for cameras, access points and data drops — retrofit in older Radford homes or prewired into new construction.
A few real jobs from our team — actual installs, not stock photos.
