A wired surveillance system for a working Christiansburg business
Zaxx Tech Solutions completed a professional hardwired security camera installation for Redline Tire & Lube in Christiansburg, Virginia. The goal was reliable surveillance coverage around the business, better visibility of important exterior areas and entry points, and an easy way for the customer to monitor the property remotely.
This is a professionally installed wired system — not a collection of standalone Wi-Fi cameras. Each camera is connected with its own Cat6 cable carrying both power and video (PoE) back to a dedicated NVR. For a commercial property, that matters: a hardwired PoE system doesn't rely on each camera holding its own wireless connection, so it's a more dependable foundation for day-to-day recording.

The challenge
Dependable coverage, clean installation
Redline Tire & Lube needed dependable surveillance coverage across a working commercial property while keeping the installation clean and professional.
Camera locations had to be chosen carefully to provide useful viewing angles of the building perimeter, access areas and other important parts of the property. New network cabling also had to be routed back to a centralized recording location — while keeping the finished work neat and appropriate for a customer-facing business.
The solution
One team handled the whole system — layout to remote access
Zaxx Tech Solutions designed the camera layout, installed the cameras, routed the Cat6 cabling, centralized the connections at the NVR, configured recording and set up remote mobile access.
Camera layout & placement
We designed the camera layout first. Each camera was positioned for useful coverage of the building perimeter, access areas and important parts of the property — not simply where it was easiest to mount.
Cat6 cabling to every camera
New Cat6 was routed from each camera back to one central location. Exterior-rated materials were used where applicable, and every run was secured and routed for a clean finished appearance.
Centralized NVR in the office
All camera connections land at a dedicated NVR in a wall-mounted enclosure inside the office, so recording equipment is organized, protected and easy to service.
Configuration, testing & remote access
We configured the recording system, then tested camera connectivity, recording, live viewing and remote access, and set up mobile viewing so the customer can check in on the property from a phone.
